About the Service

What is Albumie?

Albumie is a web service that uses AI face recognition to help you choose photos for school yearbooks. It finds each student in your uploaded photos and counts how many times they appear, so you can quickly spot students who are missing or underrepresented and make sure everyone is included.

Who is Albumie for?

Albumie is for anyone who chooses photos for a school yearbook: PTA and PTO yearbook committees and parent volunteers at preschools and elementary schools, teachers, and yearbook advisers and student staff. When thousands of photos come in from school events, photographers, and parents, Albumie shows how many times each student appears, so you can find students with few or no photos and give everyone fair coverage. Photographers and yearbook companies that produce books for schools can use it too.

How does automatic photo selection work?

When you specify the number of photos for an album, Albumie automatically selects photos so that each person appears an equal number of times. This is available on every plan at no extra cost.
The paid "Automatic Photo Selection with Advanced AI" option also evaluates composition and expressions to choose photos that are a good fit for a yearbook, while keeping every student's coverage in balance. Near-duplicate photos, such as burst shots, are excluded from the candidates. For details, see Automatic Photo Selection with Advanced AI.

How accurate is face recognition?

The AI calculates face similarity from 0% to 100%. By default, a face that is at least 80% similar to a registered person is identified as that person. You can adjust this threshold between 80% and 100%; higher values make matching stricter. Similarity may be lower for photos with masks or big smiles. For details, see Adjusting Face Recognition Accuracy.

Can it recognize children whose faces change between lower and upper grades?

Accuracy may decrease if a face changes significantly. In that case, create separate collections for the lower and upper grades, and register people and analyze photos in each one for higher accuracy. For details, see Managing Photos Separately.

Can multiple people work together?

Yes. You can invite other users by email to choose photos together. Invited users can be given the Administrator role, which can access all collections, or the Member role, which can access only the collections you allow. For details, see Inviting Users.

Can I manage photos separately by school or grade?

Yes. You can use collections to manage photos separately. You can create up to 10 collections. If you need more than 10, please contact us via our inquiry form. For details, see Managing Photos Separately.

How do I download the photos I selected?

You can download the original files of the photos added to an album, as well as a list of their file names. You can also print each person's photo list or save it as a PDF. For details, see Downloading an Album.

How much does Automatic Photo Selection with Advanced AI cost?

Security and Data

Are uploaded photos made public?

No. Photos are stored privately in the cloud and can be viewed only by the user who uploaded them and the people that user invites.

Are uploaded photos used to train AI?

No. Neither data uploaded by users to Albumie, including photos, nor face recognition results are ever used to train AI models. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

What happens to my data when my usage period ends?

On or after 14 days from the end of your usage period (including the free trial), all data, including photos, will be deleted on a rolling basis. If you sign up for a paid plan before then, you can continue using your data as is.

What happens to my photos if I delete my account?
